IKEA - A Creative Haven

I really love anything creative. It's just now in my adult years that I've discovered my creative side. My interest in creative stuff grew in me over time. As of the moment, I'm loving interior designing stuff. So, it was really a treat  to visit a creative place such as  IKEA.

Ikea store in Tampines, Singapore

Ikea is an international home product  designs company which is founded in Sweden in 1943 by then a 17 year old Ingvar Kamprad.  According to wikipedia, Ikea is actually the acronym of the founder's name, the farm and the hometown he came from.  The company came about from the founder's innovative idea to designed and manufactured functional home furnishing products at low prices. Ikea has wide-range of products that caters to the consumers need for every part of the home and even office space.

THE HOME SPACE

I like the simplicity of the furniture in this Living room. All white and clean. The cabinet has lots of compartments. Very functional!

The Kitchen area was tastefully designed! Look at those chairs so artfully made!

You can make a a small kitchen look spacious with these modern style furniture. I love the idea of putting those over head lights!

I believe that it is important to have a cozy Bedroom so you can have a good night sleep. Below are photos of different bedroom styles.
This one is a minimalist type. I want those wall lights!

Living room by day and bedroom by night. Thanks to the magic of Sofa bed.

Bedrooms for Kids!

The kids also have a place to explore in Ikea. They provide child friendly furniture, which are very useful and creatively designed.

I heart the heart-designed wallpaper and the see-through bed canopy! Sooo cute!

Don't you just love the artwork on the wall?

Kids would love the idea of sleeping on camping tent every night. Great idea for a double-deck bed.

THE OFFICE SPACE AREA

Aside from Home Furnishing, Ikea also has product lines for office space. From desks to chairs down to papers and pens!

This is a room which can also be converted to a closet area. Wow, I want to have this space in my home someday!
Lots of creative stuff around can't help but take photos.
There are wall paintings too! Sooo nice!
I admire Audrey Hepburn.
After  scouting the entire store, going from one department to another, I was famished! Good thing Ikea also has its own food court. The cinnamon bun was delicious. A must try!

HK....the first of my many!

There's always a first time for everything. I don't know with you but I tend to treasure everything I've tried first. In my previous post I wrote about my very first travel experience.  My parents would share to me stories about my out of the town trips when I was still a kid and how I would look forward to traveling with them. Fortunately, growing up I was able to visit  few more local places but when  the opportunity to travel abroad for the very first time came... dang! I couldn't resist...

First time to travel by plane. It took me a long time to experience riding a plane. All of my previous travels were by land so imagine the anxiety I felt before boarding. I have mixed feelings actually, excited and scared all at the same time. Good thing my flight was so smooth and I got my friends to distract and keep me from panicking.=P

First time in Hong Kong. I'm glad that the very first country I traveled to abroad is Hong Kong! Great way to jump start my Asian exploration. I am amazed by  the country's advancement in technology.

The HK airport was so nice! Equipped with high technology facilities and very organized system.

The transportation system of HK was also commendable. You can take the City bus when going around the city.

If you want to travel farther and faster, the MTR is the best choice.

You can also ride a cab for more convenience but it's more expensive though.

While in HK, my friends and I stayed at a guest house in Nathan road. If you are in a budget, a guest house is the place to go but if you have enough money to spend hotels are everywhere. Next time I'll visit HK, I hope to stay in a luxurious hotel like this one.

Nathan road is in the southern part of Kowloon. Shops, restaurants, buildings and landmarks are lined up in this part of HK. It is a must to try out authentic food when you are in a foreign country. We tried a noodle restaurant and picked various noodle menus.

When you are in a tourist-friendly place like Hong Kong. It is easy to filled up your itinerary. Here are some of the places we visited.

Ocean Park.
It is located in Wong Chuk Hang and Nam Long Shan, in the Southern district of Hong Kong. Ocean Park is a combination of various attractions.

Amusement Park with amazing and thrilling rides.

Aquarium and observatories which showcases diverse marine species.

First time to ride the Cable car! Ocean park is so huge an area that it helps to ride Cable cars to transport people from one part to another. From up there, you could also have an aerial view of the park.

Disneyland

Hong Kong trip wouldn't be complete without visiting Disneyland. It has been the most popular tourist spot in Hong kong and probably on the top of everyone's itinerary.

It was such a treat to ride Disney's exclusive bus!

The place is so huge that it was divided into various lands namely the Main Street, U.S.A, Fantasyland, Adventureland and Tomorrowland.

The most anticipated event in Disneyland is of course, to see Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters through the famous Disney Parade. It is indeed my first time to see Mickey Mouse in the flesh! A dream come true for me!;)
Now I got it why they call it "the happiest place on earth"!

I had a great time exploring Hong Kong! 5 days were not enough! I  need at least a week to visit more of Hong Kong tourist spots. I hope to be able to visit more places abroad in the future but Hong Kong will always be extra memorable for me.

I Heart You, Tim Tebow!

I am not a fan of American Football.  All I know is that it is a game where these bunch of broad shouldered guys bumping and tackling around for that oblong ball and the terms quarterback, touchdown and goal are associated with it. Sorry that's the best I could share about football.hehehe  However, What made me become interested in this sport is this fella named Tim Tebow. A quarterback from Denver Broncos of NFL. He is making a name in the field of football with his impressive records and statistics at such a young age of 24. He became quite popular not just because of his talent but also of his great faith in the Lord. A man who does not afraid to tell the world who he believes and follows. He makes it a point to share his faith in one way or another even if some people are against it. In 2009, Tim wore a bible verses like  John 3:16  and Proverbs 3:5-6 on his eye black. Consequently , the NFL made a rule to banned messages on eye paint, which the media labeled as the "Tebow Rule". They claimed that eye black is used to protect the eyes from the sun and not for any other reason. Tim also has a practice of end-game kneel down as his way of praying and giving thanks to the Lord, Jesus Christ for every victory.

I am deeply curious about Tim that I researched on his background. I found out that he was born in the Philippines. His father is a pastor and together with his mom, went to the Philippines to do missionary works. To continue the works his parents started, Tim through his foundation raised funds to help out orphanages, out-reach programs and other charity organizations. Also, Tim works with CURE to construct a hospital in Mindanao. Aww, Tim has a soft spot for a place where he spent his childhood. Tim Tebow is a Filipino at heart!

Athlete, Quarterback, Spokesperson, Evangelist, Philanthropic. These are  just some to describe Tim Tebow as a person. But for me, Tim Tebow is a Man of Faith. He lets everyone know about Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I hope that many men will be raised up just like Tim, a Godly man and proud to be one.
