I Heart You, Tim Tebow!

I am not a fan of American Football.  All I know is that it is a game where these bunch of broad shouldered guys bumping and tackling around for that oblong ball and the terms quarterback, touchdown and goal are associated with it. Sorry that's the best I could share about football.hehehe  However, What made me become interested in this sport is this fella named Tim Tebow. A quarterback from Denver Broncos of NFL. He is making a name in the field of football with his impressive records and statistics at such a young age of 24. He became quite popular not just because of his talent but also of his great faith in the Lord. A man who does not afraid to tell the world who he believes and follows. He makes it a point to share his faith in one way or another even if some people are against it. In 2009, Tim wore a bible verses like  John 3:16  and Proverbs 3:5-6 on his eye black. Consequently , the NFL made a rule to banned messages on eye paint, which the media labeled as the "Tebow Rule". They claimed that eye black is used to protect the eyes from the sun and not for any other reason. Tim also has a practice of end-game kneel down as his way of praying and giving thanks to the Lord, Jesus Christ for every victory.

I am deeply curious about Tim that I researched on his background. I found out that he was born in the Philippines. His father is a pastor and together with his mom, went to the Philippines to do missionary works. To continue the works his parents started, Tim through his foundation raised funds to help out orphanages, out-reach programs and other charity organizations. Also, Tim works with CURE to construct a hospital in Mindanao. Aww, Tim has a soft spot for a place where he spent his childhood. Tim Tebow is a Filipino at heart! 

Athlete, Quarterback, Spokesperson, Evangelist, Philanthropic. These are  just some to describe Tim Tebow as a person. But for me, Tim Tebow is a Man of Faith. He lets everyone know about Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I hope that many men will be raised up just like Tim, a Godly man and proud to be one.

What I've Learned in 2010

It's the new year. Most people have what they call "New Year's Resolution" but I decided to write
down all the things I've learned in the year that was. Lessons which are valuable to me and I sure
hope  is worth sharing with others.

 

1.) Do not rush. I was caught up in the moment when I decided to get into a relationship not really
thinking if it's right or not. It's always better and wiser to think things through first. Just take things
slow and steady.

2.) Find a hobby.  I've always been wanting to learn but it was only last year that I've finally bought myself
a guitar and started playing. It gives me so much joy to have something I enjoyed doing Maybe what started as a hobby could turn into a passion.

3.) Travel more. One must travel at least once a year whether locally or abroad. I had my first ever
travel abroad in 2010. Man, what a great experience. I recommend that you must travel with a
bunch of friends, it'll make the trip even more memorable.

4.) Joy is not the same as Happiness. Only last year did  I totally understood the difference

between the two. I always chase for happiness but it's only temporary. Joy is something from within and long-lasting.  I'm still learning the ways on how to be joyful though.

5.) Let yourself grow. I think this is a personal breakthrough for me. I've learned to allow
myself to grow spiritually and emotionally. We are indeed a work in progress so keep growing!


The year 2010 was a roller-coaster ride for me. There are moments of highs and lows, twists and
turns but I must  say write that the things I've learned made the ride worth-while. I would not have it any other way because of the people, experiences and lessons it brought into my life. I'm grateful for you
2010. May the lessons I've learned will help me as I journey through life in this new year and the
years to come.

Ways to Take Charge of Your Emotions

One of the hardest to handle in life is our emotions. It gets the best of us sometimes. When we are ruled by our emotions, we make actions and decisions out of impulse and then regret it in the end. Emotions also changes from time to time or what we called moodswings. Some days our emotions gets us high and other times gets us low. It's a crazy feeling and we end up unhappy. So how can we properly manage our emotion? What are the ways to not let it control us?

Here are some of the tips you can use to take charge of your emotions:

1.) Use wisdom. When you are being emotional, think with your head and not with your emotions. Stop for a moment to see if you really believe it's the right thing to do especially if you're making a decision.

2.) Control your self. Stay calm and steady when you are emotionally unstable. It takes a lot of practice to have self-control but you'll feel so much better after you got a hold of your feelings.

3.) Pray. If you're really having a hard time managing your emotions, the best thing to do is to pray and seek God for emotional maturity.

We can never get rid of our emotions. It won't go away but we can always have the will to take charge over them. Here's to emotional maturity!

Living the dream

Everyone has a dream. I remember I used to dream of becoming a broadcaster when I was a kid. I was fascinated with news anchors whenever I see them on TV. They appeared intellectual to me back then and I thought I was intelligent enough to be like them when I grow up!hahaha The dream goes on until the day I was told that I couldn't get in a much wanted course in College. Things didn't turn out as planned and I ended up taking another course. A broken dream in short. I just thought that maybe God has other plans in stored for me. Another dream that's worth pursuing so I went ahead with life even if it was hard to leave the dream behind. True enough I lost interest in my so called dream as years goes by. I discovered many things about myself and became pretty much convinced that it wasn't the right one for me after all. Honestly, I don't know if I should be relieved or should be bothered. Well, it's one thing to accept a broken dream but it's another to realize that you are left without any dream at all! I am a dreamer by nature so you can imagine how hard it was for me to be at at a lost, to be without something to envision for. So now, I'm back to rediscovery stage. Taking my time to explore things that piqued my interest. Hoping it could turn into something worth dreaming of and be passionate about. If and when I'm certain again, I'd swear to go after it and will find ways to start living them.
